From Here to Happy uses the metaphor of a voyage.
You are the captain of a ship in a time before the earth was fully mapped.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to know anything about sailing; its just a useful way of stepping back from situations to enable us to see them clearly, and the English language has lots of helpful terms that originally came from sailing.
Once I’ve explained the process in detail, I’ll ask questions about the changes you’re looking to make, so that we develop a shared understanding of where you’re at, and where you’d like to be. Over time, I’ll help you create a “passage plan” for how to get there.
Once we’ve agreed your plan and your timescales, I’ll present you with a printed copy.
At agreed intervals we’ll meet to review progress (without judgement) adjust the objectives or timescales as necessary and review again.
After outlining the process in detail, I ask key questions about the change you want to make. This helps us both gain a clear understanding of where you are now and where you want to be.
Together, we develop a personalised passage plan to guide your journey forward. Once we have refined the plan and set your timescales, I provide you with a printed copy to keep as a reference.
At agreed time intervals we meet to review progress, without judgement – nobody ever set sail to their destination and arrived their at the time they planned. We adjust the objectives or the timescales as necessary and review again.

This process varies for each person, depending on the type of change you are seeking.
Typically, the process takes three sessions: a 90-minute first session, followed by two 60-minute sessions, usually held weekly, to develop the plan.
After that, we have a monthly monitoring and review session for up to six months to help you stay on track.
